Texas Educators Will Learn Strategies for Teaching Critical Thinking Skills at Professional Development Event from Mentoring Minds
ARLINGTON, Texas – January 3, 2016 – Texas educators will get fresh ideas for integrating critical thinking into learning and teaching when they attend Critical Thinking LIVE, a professional development opportunity from national K-12 publisher, Mentoring Minds. The one-day event features interactive sessions on topics such as the Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS), Fusing Critical Thinking with Kinesthetic Learning, and Carol Dweck’s Growth Mindset Theory.
Educator, speaker, and author Karin K. Hess, Ed.D., will deliver the keynote address, “Shifting
Teacher and Student Roles: An Essential Component to Thinking that Leads to Transfer,” sharing
practical tips on ways teachers can shift instruction to develop more complex and engaging tasks
and support learners through strategic scaffolding.
