The Virtual High School Announces Three New Board Members

Boston — Nov. 15, 2017 — The Virtual High School (VHS, Inc.), a fully accredited, non-profit organization empowering schools with the industry’s most extensive offering of online and blended learning programs, has appointed Charles Gragg, Marco Rodrigues and Conall Ryan to its board of directors.

Charles Gragg has administered the online learning program at Holly High School in Holly, Michigan since 2008. His passion for online course design and teaching is matched only by his love for building New England timber frame barns using 19th century tools and techniques. Gragg has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Harvard, a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Chicago, and a master’s degree in education from the University of Michigan. He holds teaching certifications for English and social studies in Michigan and Virginia. Gragg has also been a Special Lecturer at Oakland University since 2014, where he teaches first year composition.

Marco Rodrigues is the superintendent of Hudson Public Schools in Hudson, Massachusetts. Prior to his work in Hudson, he served as manager of special education and intervention services, and, most recently, chief academic officer for Worcester Public Schools in Worcester, Massachusetts. Over the course of 26 years, he has worked in a variety of roles educating students. Rodrigues holds an undergraduate degree in Spanish from Worcester State University, a master’s in education from Assumption College, and a doctorate in educational leadership from Nova Southeastern University.

Conall Ryan is a publishing executive with deep knowledge of education, consumer markets and marketing. He is the Founder of Conall Ryan & Associates, and consults on corporate strategy, new business initiatives and product development. His projects have included personalized adaptive learning systems based on big data analytics, next generation assessment, and game simulations for higher education. Ryan previously served as President & CEO of Muzzy Lane Software, a progressive game-oriented educational technology company. He is an active mentor for LearnLaunch, advising the educational technology startups that they support. Ryan holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Boston University.

“All three of our new board members bring a wealth of experience and valuable insights to The Virtual High School,” said Carol Ribeiro, President & CEO of VHS. “We are pleased to have this trio of accomplished individuals working with us to advance educational opportunities and help prepare students for college, careers, and life.”
