Avoiding or Correcting a Parent Communications Compliance Finding

Despite the best intentions and the most thorough of staff, a school district can still be subject to a finding of parent communications non-compliance with the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).

Providing translations of documents is a Civil Rights requirement that can sometimes be unintentionally violated. Using machine translations from an online source, overwhelmed staff who don’t have time to become federal parent communications compliance experts, incorrect translations, and other circumstances can result in compliance violations that put the district at risk despite staff’s best efforts.

In this webinar, attendees will learn about:

  • The risk of a noncompliance finding on a district
  • Using parent engagement software to support staff in simplified compliance, guidance and education
  • Requirements related to providing communications in a language parents can understand
  • Notices that are required to be sent versus those that help meet other federal compliance requirements
