Mass. school board chooses Bridget Gough

Walpole school system’s assistant superintendent, Bridget Gough, has been picked as the Massachusetts district’s new superintendent, replacing retiring Superintendent Lincoln Lynch. Gough has worked within the Walpole schools for the past 26 years.

School Committee members selected Walpole Assistant Superintendent Bridget Gough as the district’s new leader after an interview session Monday night.

Gough, who has worked within the Walpole schools for the past 26 years, had been chosen as a candidate to replace Superintendent Lincoln Lynch, who is retiring at the end of the school year. The district, committee members have noted, considered internal candidates first, and identified Gough as an employee who had the requisite qualifications.

The schools held a public forum with Gough earlier in the month, inviting community members to ask questions of her and share their feedback with the committee.
