Many district leaders are challenged with developing whole-school, data-driven, prevention-based frameworks for improving learning outcomes for every student. Under the new provisions of ESSA, district leaders are also mandated to build curriculum capacity using a layered continuum of evidence-based practices and systems, to improve outcomes for students in Tiers 2-3 and special education.

TIENET Special Education Case Management System allows administrators to manage the entire special education process, including pre-referral, eligibility, reporting to parents and personalized education programs. It also supports Medicaid billing and ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, including the IDEA 2004 reauthorization and No Child Left Behind.

It’s appropriate for students with learning disabilities such as dyslexia and dysgraphia, and also for English-language learners.

The eStar Response to Intervention (RTI) application helps educators organize the information they need to evaluate and support students who are struggling academically or behaviorally. Districts can document strategies set to prevent students from being referred to special education, and share information with all staff members involved in the process. eStar RTI meets No Child Left Behind and Civil Rights Act requirements.

A human-like robot that can mimic emotions and play interactive games can help students with autism develop social skills.

Aldebaran Robotics’ “ASK NAO” robot, which is about two feet tall, mimics an emotion with gestures and sounds, and waits for children to recognize the emotion. It may then ask children the last time they experienced such an emotion. It also can teach autistic children time, taking turns, basic conversation, and other communication skills.
