The preference study included side-by-side comparisons of 3LCD and 1-chip DLP projectors with similar resolution and white brightness specifications. Participants viewed a series of side-by-side images and responded with their preference. Nine out of 10 respondents preferred the image from a 3LCD projector over 1-chip DLP, and of those, 87 percent strongly preferred 3LCD images.

A North Carolina school district has suspended the use of 15,000 tablets after reports of multiple hardware issues, including the device’s charger melting at home. Districts everywhere have had high hopes that the affordable tablet would help bring K12 education into the 21st century. But melting accessories are not a good sign.
Soundcraft’s Si Performer and Si Expression consoles will also be used in the school’s main live sound area, where a full sound reinforcement system will be set up to teach students how to mix live FOH and monitor sound and learn system networking. In addition to spending time behind the mixing boards, students will learn to work with the Soundcraft ViSi app, which enables remote control of Soundcraft consoles from an iPad.
To participate, entrants must complete an online application and upload a three- to five-minute video describing their program. The judges will be seeking applications that illustrate critical thinking, communication, creativity and collaboration between students and among teachers and other members of the school staff.
