The Howard County Public School System, in Columbia, Md., has begun outfitting its school buses with new digital camera systems. Four cameras are being installed on each bus, two in the front, one in the middle, and one in the back. The cameras will allow administrators to review incidents on the buses.

The number of Americans ages 16 and older who own tablet computers has grown to 35 percent, and the share who have e-reading devices like Kindles and Nooks has grown to 24 percent. Combined, the number of people who have a tablet or an e-book reader among those 16 and older now stands at 43 percent, up from 25 percent last year.
