By the time the Howard County Board of Education made its final decision this week to offer its open superintendent of schools position to Renee Foose, its only other candidate for the position, S. Dallas Dance, had already accepted a similar offer from the Baltimore County Board of Education.

In her 15 years working in Maryland public schools, Howard County Public School System superintendent candidate Renee Foose has developed a "proven record of success" in reforming schools to meet new standards of achievement, according to a system statement on her candidacy released Monday morning.

The Texas Education Agencyhas no plans to investigate suspicious test scores in Houston, Dallas and other state school districts that point to the possibility of cheating and is questioning the methodology of a new report that indicated the suspect scores.

On Feb. 23, Steven Anderson, instructional technologist for Winston-Salem/Forsyth County (N.C.) Schools, celebrated his three-year anniversary on Twitter. Anderson began exploring Twitter in 2009 as a way of finding people with similar interests, opposing views, and resources on integrating technology in the classroom to share with teachers and staff in his district of 57,000 students.
