Pearson launches integrated data sharing service

Pearson is integrating its GradPoint and PowerSchool applications, allowing customers to synch course and student data on a regular basis. PowerSchool is a web-based student information system while GradPoint is a collection of more than 200 standards-based online courses for students in grades six through 12.

These free manipulatives are built using HTML5 code, enabling students to access them on a smartphone, tablet or desktop computer.

Dawn Pro Audio releases new speaker line

Dawn Pro Audio announced a new speaker line employing original acoustic waveguide technology. The new Dawn AW4 features four drivers in 3-way configuration and 1000-watt Class D amp. A smaller, battery-powered version, the Dawn AW3, features three drivers in 3-way design and a 40W linear amp.

NMC and CoSN release technology trend report

The New Media Consortium and the Consortium for School Networking, with the support of HP, released the NMC Horizon Report > 2014 K-12 Edition. It describes annual findings from the NMC Horizon Project, an ongoing research project designed to identify and describe emerging technologies likely to have an impact on teaching, learning, and creative inquiry in K12 schools.

Spanish title series released by Rourke Educational Media

Rourke Educational Media introduced library-bound Spanish collections with science, history and social skills titles targeted for students in kindergarten and elementary and middle schools. The new Spanish series includes titles such as Green Earth Science Discovery Library, History of America, Little World Social Skills and others.

North Carolina district adopts Knovation's netTrekker

Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) in North Carolina will implement Knovation's digital learning resource library, netTrekker, in all K8 schools. As the largest public school district in the state and the sixteenth largest in the country, WCPSS will offer the educator-curated digital content to more than 100,000 students across 137 elementary and middle schools.

BAM Radio Network launches PULSE to support educational programming

BAM Radio Network (BRN) has launched PULSE. The new platform that will allow producers of education-related radio shows and podcasts to access BRN's global community of educators, who use internet radio for professional development, project-based learning, community building, outreach, brand building, parental engagement, and adding their voices to the international education discussion.

OpenEd has launched a free assessment creation tool that enables educators to create tests incorporating their own questions, or existing questions automatically suggested by OpenEd's educational recommendation engine.

Curriculum Advantage and Scantron align to enhance personalized learning

Curriculum Advantage announced an alliance with Scantron to integrate Curriculum Advantage's Classworks with Scantron Performance Series and Scantron Achievement Series assessment solutions. Classworks will take the assessment data provided on individual students to create customized assignments.
