Kate Coombs, curriculum director at Gibbs Smith Education, will present “Getting History Write: Common Core Strategies for Your Classroom,” which focuses on using writing to enhance student learning about history. Coombs will debunk five common myths about writing instruction, offer teachers the opportunity to participate in a brief model writing activity, and provide purposeful strategies to help students improve their writing—especially about primary sources.
