Providing Device Support That Improves Student Safety and Access During COVID

A District Administration Web Seminar

This fall, Nixa Public Schools adopted a hybrid model that supports in-class and online learning for families who are not comfortable with bringing their children to school during the pandemic. As a 1-to-1 district, Nixa already had device support policies and procedures in place for Chromebooks that required repairs, but still needed to assess whether to improve or maintain the current system as a result of COVID-19.

In this web seminar, Executive Director of Technology David Liss will share how his district’s current device support processes:

  • minimize contact points to reduce the risk of transmission
  • improve student accountability of their devices
  • ensure students always have a device
  • reduce wait times when returning repaired devices
  • provide peace of mind for parents dropping off and picking up devices

Liss will also discuss how schools can use UV-equipped science materials commonly used in the classroom for cleansing device surfaces.
